Abstract

Abstract work is my favorite challenge in painting. A successful abstract art piece looks and feels effortless, maybe some would even say “easy”. But it is far from that! So much can be communicated through the careful use of color, tone, texture, and strokes, activating memories and emotions from our subconscious that we have suppressed or that we are afraid of dealing with. My work in abstract art is often a form of therapy for me and I would love to hear if any of it speaks to you! If you ever feel connected to an abstract painting and aren’t sure why, my advice would be to spend some time with the piece, maybe grab a pen and journal, and see what comes up.
